Gaming Services: A Career In Gambling
The Multi-Billion Gaming Industry
It was a long time before gambling was legalized in the United States. It was not a one time legalization of all gambling games though but a very long process. The legalization process was also different and in various stages for each state. In the end, the government assessed more jobs for employment due to the legalization of gambling. Casino games such as poker, black jack, slot machines were said to be helpful in creating jobs across the United States.
Gaming or the play of various games of chance is reported to be a multi-billion industry that paved the way for the creation of a number of service professions. Gaming can include the usual casino gaming, state lotteries, horse racing, dog racing and even charitable games. The gaming industry created such an impact that it reached the status of an industry. How ironic that an industry that is supported by games of chance could sustain and provide stable jobs for the people.
Almost all workers that cater to the gaming industry are employed in the casinos. These workers have titles and responsibilities that could vary from one casino establishment to another but despite these differences in titles, all workers are basically doing the same thing. Workers could supervise, investigate and conduct surveillance while some of them will be assigned to work directly with the customers or casino players. These workers will perform various activities such as dealing cards or running games, tending the slot machines, handling money and writing or running tickets.

First to explain why I write this article. I have been gambling online or at land based casinos for many years. I have learned, the addiction can take a hold of you and you won’t even realize it until you are broke. Especially if you are on a winning streak. I have gone through many thousands of dollars in only a short period of time and still on occasion, I will go too far. It seems you are just having fun until you decide to pay attention to your loss and the guilt sets in, and then you keep telling yourself “I can win it back” repeatedly. It never works. Then you feel queasy in your stomach and the harder you try the faster you lose.
When you see that you are up, STAY on the UP! When you begin to lose, don’t tell yourself, “well just maybe one more” and again and again, believe me, this method RARELY ever works. Say you are playing on slots, have an amount set aside prior to beginning your play. DO NOT go over that limit, no matter how tempting. If you happen to win, put that in a different pot. Do not spend your winnings no matter what. Once you have played through your original set limit, stop. Leave, whether it’s online or at a land based casino, do not stick around. Always keep in mind, there will be another day, another time. Obviously, this method can work for any game that you play, be it bingo, poker, video poker, keno, blackjack or any other.

The United States and the United Kingdom differ in their approaches to gambling, online or otherwise. The difference in the approaches of the two countries has implications for their citizens in terms of legality, taxes, etc. These differences are obvious now that the U.S. has passed a bill trying to cut the purse strings for internet gambling. The U.S. is trying to outlaw internet gambling as best as it can. But there isn’t too much that they can do since the online casinos are all located outside of the U.S. Online gambling is an industry with revenues in the billions of dollars a year category with a sizeable chunk of those proceeds coming from gamblers within the United States. Five years ago Visa, MasterCard and the merchant banks began refusing to honor e-gambling transactions, making it difficult for gamblers to transfer funds electronically, until the e-wallets appeared. The use of phone lines to place gambling bets is illegal and the U.S. Department of Justice says it will consider any form of internet gambling to be illegal until they receive a bill from Congress telling them that it is legal. The U.S. approach has been to try to ban gambling on the moral grounds of family values.
Since all of the online gambling companies are located outside of the United States, the U.S. does not have jurisdiction over them. The new bill, the Internet Gambling Prohibition and Enforcement Act, passed by the House of Representatives in July, prohibits the electronic transfer of fund for purposes of gambling. The only entity the U.S. government will be able to reach is the individual that is doing the gambling from within the United States. The owners and executives of the gambling companies just have to stay outside of the United States and they are untouchable.

Baccarat simple to learn
The greatest thing about the online casino game of Baccarat is its simplicity. You can easily learn the game and become an expert in a very short time. As a player you will be required to decide on the sort bet you will make. Your function ends here and it is the dealer who then starts functioning. Whether to pay the money or get the money will depend on the final outcome of the hand. Mini Baccarat is the more common form of Baccarat that is prevalent these days.

Always amazed by this man, many people were deeply saddened when they learned of Kerry Packer’s death in December of 2005. He won millions of dollars said to have totaled somewhere between 20 million and 40 million at Las Vegas’ MGM over a period of several days which ultimately ruined the careers of several casino employees, executives in fact, who had used all of their influences to reel him in to become a player at the MGM casino. Ironically, after these executives reeled in the “whale” of a lifetime, they didn’t want him but because of his powerful position as a media mogul, they couldn’t do anything about it except tolerate him.
Kerry Packer was a media tycoon that had an estimated net worth of somewhere around 4.7 billion dollars. He was the wealthiest man in Australia making his money from media holdings including television and print media. He was involved heavily in gambling and tourism and had significant interest in Melbourne’s Crown Casino.
